Frankfurt Diaries

I went to Frankfurt, the financial hub of Germany, few weeks before Christmas. We drove to Frankfurt which took us about 3 hours. Frankfurt is full of skyscrapers. No wonder the ten tallest building in Europe lies in this city. It is a very cosmopolitan city indeed. The best thing about Frankfurt was we had an opportunity to witness both the modern skylines and old buildings made out of timber in a close proximity to each other. Such a contrast you can find in this city. Romerberg stole my heart which is a historic heart of Frankfurt. It is more like an old part of Frankfurt where you could see beautiful timber houses in the square and Frankfurt Cathedral which is within the walking distance from the square. As we went before Christmas, the square in Romerberg held a massive Christmas market. We also visited Opernplatz - Old opera in the evening. Opernplatz is the place you must visit whilst in Frankfurt. The Main Tower is another place if you are interested in viewing Frankfurt city and its concrete jungle from 54th floor, 190 meters. Trust me, Frankfurt looks beautiful from the Main Tower. Apfelwein (Apple wine) is a popular drink in Frankfurt. So, don't forget to try Apfelwein while you are there. One last piece of information on Frankfurt is that it is shopping paradise. All the well known luxury and high street brands are in Frankfurt.
