Company Casting Call 2012

Decided to take part in Company Casting Call 2012 with River Island. Basically, they are providing opportunities to girls with different shapes, sizes and looks to star in their May issue. The reason I participated is because I believe I represent petite size girls. People often tend to stereotype when it comes to women's size and claim that only certain type of women 'fit' the bill to be model or get featured in fashion magazine. I want to prove this wrong and want to send strong message that all women are beautiful in their own way whatever size, age and race they are. Stereotyping women on their sizes should be stopped. The judges will chose 12 girls and 1 girl will be chosen through public vote. Final 6 will be chosen by the judges. The casting opened on 20th January but sadly I didn't participate until 30th January as I couldn't make up my mind about participating at first. If you believe that I deserve to feature on Company magazine then please vote for me. I'll appreciate if you could spare few minutes and vote for me. Just click this link http://www.styleinsider.riverisland.com/?p=company_entrant&id=4296&s=true  and press the 'like' button. Alexa Chung has been featured in the recent cover and I love her style. I am regular reader of Company and their coverage about fashion bloggers in 2009/10 inspired me to start blogging. Many thanks xx

20 years of Dazed & Confused Magazine

On Friday, I visited 20 years of Dazed & Confused Magazine exhibition in Somerset House which displayed most infamous visual stories, featuring legendary photoshoots, iconic covers, controversial editorial content and artwork from influential photographers, designers, and artists. I hadn't planned to go there at all but while I was sitting at office, I just decided to go there around 4pm and guess what I wasn't dressed appropriately to visit the event. However, I was determined to go and went there alone even after working 7 and half hours  :) I did not wanted to miss this event as today (Sunday) was the last day. I knew that if I had not visited on Friday then I would have missed it. The event had free admission. It was great and fab. I was very impressed. This is one of the reasons I love living in London. Enjoy the pictures xx

Vintage shopping spree

Went for vintage shopping spree in Brick Lane with my cousin, Suju and I wasn't feeling great. Was suffering from horrendous cold but still that didn't stop me from shopping. Bought some nice vintage floral tops for summer from Beyond Retro. I love shopping in Beyond Retro cos they always have nice stuff and I also found them bit cheaper than the other vintage shops. I wanted to keep myself warm so didn't make much effort this time with my outfit and make-up. I have also added my Suju's pic who has got quirky sense of style. Hope you will like her style. Have a good weekend. Enjoy the pictures xx

I am wearing Zara Coat, Topshop bag, Next boots, Primark leggings and Mango knitwear.

My cousin is wearing Zara Jacket, Primark top, Forever 21 skirt and DR Martens boots.

Paint My love

After nearly a year, I am doing product review. Yay!! I promise from now I'll be regularly reviewing beauty products. I love painting my nails and doing nail art. As a result, I own quite a lot of nail polishes. My favourite ones are O.P.I, Barry M and Rimmel . I know O.P.I is bit expensive. However, if your budget doesn't stretch that far then the best alternatives are Rimmel and Barry M which cost under £5. The reason I love these three nail polish is because it last longer, the colour is amazing, comes in variety of colour, it is thick and therefore, one coat is enough to cover nails without streaks or patches. The most important thing is they dry quickly. Nails Inc I would rate them average. The least favourite nail polish for me is Avon as it is quite thin and runny. Have to apply two or three coats before the colour pop which I absolutely hate.

Tip: If you hate waiting for nail polish to dry then dip your fingers in cold water for few minutes and see the results :)

You always light my way

Surprisingly, this year winter has been so kind to us. Everyday we have lovely sunshine which is encouraging us (girls) to wear summer clothes with warm blazers and coat. Few months to go before S/S 2012 but I am already excited and planning what I'll be wearing this summer. I adore spots at the moment. By saying spots, I meant clothes with spots. As much as I love spots, I defo don't want any spots on my face though LOL. Stella Mccartney's spot dress inspired me to buy this lovely sheer spot dress. I would defo be wearing spot skirts and blazer for S/S 2012. Do feel free to share what are you planning to wear this S/S 2012. I have become skirt person from last year. It feels like I have abandon trousers but I haven't. You'll soon see me with trousers. Promise!!

New Look top, H&M Blazer, ASOS sheer spot skirt, Necklace bought from Paris whilst on holiday, Nepalese silver bangles and Next shoes.

All out of place

First look at the pictures and you must be thinking "Is she Crazy?" Definitely, I am not. These pictures were taken last year and I totally forgot to blog about it. I only published these pictures in my blog's facebook page . I had very lazy sunday today, meaning I didn't do very much. I managed to find this picture today hiding in my computer and thought to blog about it. Every girl gotta have nice dress in their closet and this one is my favourite dress among the ones I own. I just love the mixed colour with big pleats and I guess most of the people who read my blog already knows that I am big fan of one shoulder dress. This winter I have managed to gain few pounds. This is due to the fact I love to eat and hate to exercise. Nevermind, putting some pounds is not a big deal when there is so much going on over the world ;) I have been suggested by people often to put more make-up. However, I prefer less and natural make-up instead of putting ten layers of make-up. For me what makes a women beautiful is her inner beauty i.e. her personality, attitude and perception. I don't think anybody will ever see me on ten layers of make-up. Sorry, that's just not me. I have to say I am comfortable in my own skin but have to thank people for their suggestion. Cheers xx

The Grass is still Green in Winter

It's first post of 2012. Yay!! The weather has been very kind this year. We had nice sunshine today and it was warm. Decided to wear this outfit today before heading out. I did carry a leather jacket in case if it got colder. Fortunately, the weather was fine. You can still see green grass around this year in January. I still cannot digest the fact that the weather has been warm and no snowfall yet in London. I am trying to make most out of the weather at the moment :) Ladies do invest in pencil skirt cos you can wear it 'in' and 'out' of office. Isn't that great?
