London Fashion Week

The much awaited LFW was offically here and I chose to go on the very last day (27th feb, 2011).
I was very excited when the day finally came.
I even managed to wake up early than I normally do. See how excited I was ;)
The morning was bright and sunny. So, I was expecting bright day and
thought that the weather forecast was wrong as it clearly said night before
that it will rain.
Sadly, it rained during the day. They were right and I was wrong :(

The clothes I wore I decided that same morning. This is the first time I had been so unorganised.
I went to station to catch my train and soon to my disbelief I found that there were
no trains to London. Great. I had to go to another
place to catch my train which was so crowded like in peak hours.

Because of the train I was late for the catwalk show for nearly 20 mins
and when I reached LFW, they advised me to see the catwalk at  3 pm
as there was 10 mins left for the catwalk to finish. At 3 pm we went
to see the catwalk which lasted for 15 mins.

I enjoyed the catwalk especially the hairstyle of the models and their outfits but I wished it was longer.

You already know how much I like to shop. However, being students it is hard to shop every month these days :(
Student =Skint
This summer I am defo going to hit PRIMARK for sure. Have u guys seen their new summer/spring '11 clothes? I am very impressed.
The clothes are like "WOW" and it won't break my bank too :D
This time around I love the clothes. They have defo designed  very well
and also they have kept in mind their target customers.
The clothes are from Vintage A line skirt, flared trousers to long pleated skirt. It looks like TOPSHOP clothes seriously.
Yes, I can't wait to hit PRIMARK.

My Fav - YSL and Ralph Lauren. What's yours?

I love smelling good LOL. Yes, I do and the perfume are the best invention ever to make us smell like million dollars :) I have to list of perfume I love. However, two of my fav are YSL "Parisienne" and Ralph Lauren "Romance". The scent is sweet and refreshing. YSL scent last throughout the day and even after couple of days too which is even better cos half of the time perfume doesn't last for days, some not even for hours. Ralph Lauren, sadly only last for couple of hours :( even though I love the smell. I was wearing Ralph Lauren at work and one of the customer said "You smell nice". I joked to them saying "its not me, its actually Ralph Lauren perfume" LOL :D

I don't like strong smell and nethier spicy kinda smell. Strong smell perfumes makes me think like I am wearing men's perfume LOL and I guess people would defo think that too if the scent is too strong. One of the example of this is Kylie's first perfume. The bottle was great but sadly smell was kinda weird i.e strong and spicy kinda smell.

Other perfume I love is Marc Jacobs Daisy and Armani Code. Need to buy Armani code cos its already finished.  These are my fav. What's yours?

Yay, Sumina's First Post :D

It’s been 5th day of procrastination from almost everything (except life). And I'm almost six days away from attending New York Fashion Week and here I sit amid a pile of clothes that make no sense at all. Mero bhaasaama (in my language) all of these clothes are ghar basney luga( clothes that are apt while staying at home).

But then as I rummage through my suitcase, I find these two pairs of pretty buttons, which I had removed from my newly stitched coat. They are really pretty but they looked too incongruous in my coat. At the moment of removal, I didn’t know what to do with them so had just cornered them in my jewelry box. I usually save such stuffs—I like collecting buttons, ribbons and literally speaking --all the waste. Generally I tend to use them in future. Me (I) believe in the concept of reuse and recycle…

Recycled earrings

So finally, I get one thing that I can take to the Fashion Week—those two pairs of buttons that I can wear as my earrings. Back home, I usually get scolded for cutting my clothes so that I can wear it in my own way. I am well known for tearing off buttons from one cloth and sewing them in another. At times I make a complete mess out of it. Other times I get lucky. :) And this is one of those times, where I got lucky. Pheww…

Coming back to these pretty little things--one of the pairs is made of woolen fabric and is in herringbone print, the other pair is made out of Japanese silk and is in two different prints. The later one is dreamy, like a cloud…

Me with another pair of earrings :)

I would like to thank Kunal dai for taking me to Wonder Fabrics and Linen Club, where I found out those textiles. And after much mulling, I decided to go for the Japanese silk from Wonder Fabrics that Kunal dai had recommended me to use as an inner lining for the coat. And Thanks to the designer, who made me an extra pair of buttons from both fabrics. Best part—both of them suit me (at least that is what I believe in).

Note: Of late I have started feeling that everything in this life has a purpose and those buttons found a purpose this very day. But I am searching for good fasteners to hold them really tight. So wish me luck.

P.S Muri Muri dhanyabad (thanks ) to Sarita of http://fashionbeautybug.blogspot.com/ for adding me as her blog's contributor. Much appreciated. Keep blogging!!!

With love Sumina xx
